BERLIN—Ms. Hua is a shop owner in greater Berlin. She attended the Chinese Spectacular matinee performance at Berlin's International Congress Centre and found it very much to her liking.

"I loved the show! The performances were truly good! The dance about the mother and child [The Power of Awareness] where everyone offers a helping hand—the one just before the last curtain—touched me the most. It was very impressive."

Having lived in Germany since childhood, Ms. Hua said she had never seen performances like the Spectacular and said she might attend the next year's show if at all possible.

Another dance, 'The Nymphs of the Sea', was further favorite of hers: "One of the dancing scenes—the one with the water—was very beautifully presented. It is truly a great idea to present the water movements like this."

Monica and Samir Hosny had waited patiently to express their feelings of the show. They had been in China about four times and are fond of the country and its people.

They enjoyed the Chinese Spectacular's music. Ms. Hosny said, "We like the sound of the erhu very much."

Ms. Hosny was especially impressed with the Tibetan dance 'Snowy Mountain, White Lotus'. "I really enjoyed that particular scene."

She commented about the performers being mainly ethnic Chinese who are based in New York, "I live in the United States. I can understand that. I love China, but I don't appreciate the treatment of the Tibetan people by the Chinese regime."

Eveline Danielezyk, who takes Asian studies at university originates from Poland, but has lived for twenty years in Berlin. She thinks that such Chinese shows should come more often to Berlin as one can learn from it.

"I have not seen something like this show in Berlin. It is just such a really great show and I think more and more people will come to watch it. I'm really impressed that so many parents came with their children."
