Dear Friends,
I am pleased to join Canadians of Chinese descent along with all Canadians in the celebrations of the 2008 Chinese New Year. Congratulations on this happy occasion.
The Chinese New Year is a time to rejoice and partake in the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. Citizenship and Immigration has been of special importance to me. Immigration has been, is and will continue to be the life blood of our country. I am deeply committed to building an inclusive Canada. February 7th, 2008 marks the year of the Rat. These celebrations provide an opportunity for all Canadians to give recognition to the many contributions of Chinese-Canadians to the social, economic and cultural mosaic of our nation.
I would like to congratulate New Tang Dynasty Television as the 2008 Chinese New Year Spectacular marks your 5th annual event of entertaining live audiences throughout the world. NTDTV Canada has taken a leadership role in the promotion of China's traditional arts and culture nationally while meeting the needs of multi-ethnic and multicultural communities in Canada.
