Chinese couple agree they would never see a performance in China at a level as high as DPA

Two sisters from mainland China, one a former professional dancer, attended the first Divine Performing Arts (DPA) show in Brooklyn, and were delighted at the performances.

As Father John Youne, from Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral, in Brooklyn, N.Y., watched the Divine Performing Arts show, his thoughts took him to his native land of Lebanon and the current violence in the Middle East. The contrast was striking to him: “Look at these performers, the way they move—so peaceful and no violence—I like it so much. They are showing something very important: how to be peaceful, and the way they dance.”

“I waited a year for this,” the Honorable Lisa MacLeod, MPP for Nepean-Carleton, said after watching the Divine Performing Arts 2009 World Tour performance at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

“This is the best show I've ever seen,” said music director Mr. Seadin. He was among hundreds who gave Divine Performing Arts a long standing ovation at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Detroit.

“I think the show is beautiful, all the history,” he said. “I’m Chinese and Jewish. My mother is Chinese. … It’s a different experience, and I wanted my son to experience it. My son is here and so is my wife,” said Mr. Chang Weisberg, executive producer of a 2007 film, creator, and former publisher of a magazine

On New Year’s eve, a Chinese immigrant who had just arrived in the United States from Shanghai, attended the Divine Performing Arts show currently playing at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in LA.
