ATLANTA—People talked intently in the Cobb Energy Centre lobby after the January 5th Chinese New Year Spectacular. They sat on stairs, clustered in the mezzanine, and stood near the exit doors. Here are some of the things they said:

During the second performance of the Chinese New Year Spectacular in Atlanta, Georgia, members of the audience laughed and clapped, sometimes in the middle of a piece. Some wiped their eyes.

"They're all good, they're all good," said Loyd Johnson, a civil engineer originally from Caribbean, after watching the Chinese New Year Spectacular in Atlanta on Jan. 4.

Johnny Ford, now mayor of historic Tuskegee, Alabama, was chosen by his government to be the point person for his city's relationship with Taiwan many years ago. He was serving in the Alabama legislature at that time.
